  1. 1)strong acid +strong base = neutral salt
    ex : NaCl & KCl
    2) weak acid+ weak base =acidic/basic/neutral salt
    ex : CH3COONH4 & (NH4)2CO3
3)weak acid + strong base = basic salt
    ex : Na2CO3 & CH3COOK
4)strong acid + weak base = acidic salt
    ex : FeCl3 & CuSO4

  2. Sodium Chloride and Potassium Sulphate are neutral salts formed due to reaction between strong bases and strong acids. Calcium carbonate(basic salt) and Ammonium Carbonate(weak acid) are examples of salts formed due to reaction between weak acids and weak bases . Calcium chloride and Calcium Sulphate are examples of acidic salts formed due to reaction between strong acids and weak bases . Sodium Carbonate and Potassium Carbonate are basic salts formed due to reaction between strong bases and weak acids.

  3. Homework(Nethan Gilroy)
Strong Acids: hydrochloric acid ( HCl );nitric acid ( HNO3 )
Weak Acids: acetic acid (CH3COOH) ; oxalic acid (H2C2O4)
Strong Bases:Potassium hydroxide (KOH);Sodium hydroxide (NaOH)
    Weak Bases:Ammonia(NH3);Pyridine(C5H5N)

  4. Sir, can we write answer as ‘ Alkaline solution ‘ instead of ‘Alkaline’ for the below question.
    33. State the inference drawn from the following observation:
    (i) pH of liquid R is 10. What kind of substance is R?
    Thanks,
    Nethan Gilroy
